OLADIPUPO ADEJOKE- DIRECTOR, LEGAL
Adejoke Oladipupo is a 1992 Law Graduate from the Obafemi Awolowo University. She obtained her Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B) from the Nigerian Law School in 1993 and Master of Laws Degree (LL.M) in 1998 also from the Obafemi Awolowo University.
She has over 30 yearsexperience post call and worked 7 years in private practice before joining the Public Service as State Counsel with the Ministry of Justice in 2000. She began her career in Public Service as a prosecutor in the Directorate of Public Prosecution with track records of judgements in favour of the State. She was Head of the Consumer Protection Unit under the Directorate of Citizens’ Right and also worked with the Directorate of Commercial Law before she was deployed to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives (now Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment) in 2009.
She assumed duty as Head of the Legal Unit in the Ministry of Commerce where she dealt with issues relating to the development of the Lekki Free Zone and gained experience on the legal and regulatory environment of a free zone. She was a member/ mediator on the Consumer Protection Committee and anchored a phone-in radio programme “Consumer Watch” a platform created by the Ministry to enlighten the public on their rights as consumers. Upon the establishment of the Consumer Protection Agency, she was appointed as one of the pioneer member of the Board of the Agency. She was also a member of the Board of Directors of Elsewedy Electric (Nigeria) Limited.
She was the Programme Manager of the LASG/ILD Informal Sector Reform Programme and created a legal frame work for the formalization of the activities of operators of the informal sector of the State’s economy with the aim of unleashing the potentials/wealth locked within the sector. In 2019, she was posted back to the Directorate of Commercial law, Ministry of Justice where she worked till June 2024.
She has attended many legal advocacy, leadership and management courses. She is a member of the International Bar Association and the Nigerian Bar Association.
She enjoys listening to music, singing and counselling.
She is a Director and Head of the Legal Unit of the Ministry of Finance.
